SanwoOlu Reduces BRT, LAGRIDE, LAGFERRY’s fare By 50%

In an effort to reduce the economic hardship caused by the fuel and new Naira notes scarcity, Governor, Babajide SanwoOlu, has approved a 50percent reduction in the Bus Rapid Transit, BRT’s fare.

Speaking at a news briefing at the State House, in Marina, on Wednesday, SanwoOlu also sliced by half the LAGRIDE taxi-scheme fare, First and Last Miles’ bus fare, as well as Lagos Ferry Services, LAGFERRY’s fare, to cushion the effects of the Federal Government’s policies.

According to the Governor, the reductions made across all state’s own transportation schemes would take effect from Thursday, February 9, 2023.

The governor added that more Cowrie Cards would now be made available at the bus terminals to enable more Lagosians get onboard and benefit from the service inline with the yearnings of the residents in Lagos.

SanwoOlu also announced that food banks are already been set up across the state, to assist vulnerable Lagosians gain access to better meals.

The State’s gesture is coming about three weeks to the general election, which is scheduled to start on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
