– Charge Aides To Keep Up With Their Good Works.
Parents of secondary school students, in Ondo State, have expressed their appreciation to Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for the payment of all public secondary schools West African Examination Council fees for 2023 in the state.
The parents, who were from the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State, paid an unscheduled ‘thank you’ visit to the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Ondo State, Chief Olugbenga Ale, in his country home at Owo on Sunday, to express their gratitude to Arakunrin Akeredolu for the gesture extended to their wards.
The parents, who came under the aegis of ‘The Happy Parents Of Secondary School Students In Ondo State’ were elated as they sang different songs to praise God in the life of the governor, asserting that keeping with promises is a great virtue of righteousness and this has always been exhibited by the governor in his dispensation of his duties in office, also, proven is his commitment to a better life for the people of Ondo State since he came to the saddle of leadership.
The parents appreciated Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN for paying the WAEC 2023 fees of the SS3 students in the state for the fourth year runing despite the economic crunch affecting the country by which Ondo State does not fare well in terms of federal allocation and internally generated revenue.
Leader of the group, Chief Kasali Amodegbe, stated that the group is convenient with the idea of visiting the country home of the Chief of Staff in maintaining their low profile policy because they prefer to not upset the itinerary of the governor, inasmuch, as they know that the CoS will deliver their message to the governor.
They also appreciated the team working with the governor, viz, the Deputy Governor, Barr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the SSG, Chief, Mrs Oladunni Odu, the CoS, Chief Olugbenga Ale and other state ExCo members assisting the governor in the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Another elder in the group, Chief, Mrs, Adenike Fatomilola, eulogized the wife of the governor, Arabirin Betty Anyawu-Akeredolu, for constituting the strong pillar of support upon which the governor lean on; by which he is never tired physically and spiritually.
The parents, who observed a prayer session with the CoS and his household beseeched God to take away the infirmity of the governor as he is too good to be afflicted with any element of draw-back that may derail his thrusts and good visions for the people of the state, “leaders like him who truly submit themselves to the service of the people they lead are hard to come by,” Chief Kasali said.
“By the goodwill of the governor to pay the WAEC fees of the SS3 students in the state, heavy burdens have been lifted from the shoulders of parents whose children are participating in the examination. God would lift burdens from the shoulders of the governor too.
“His ability to be able to, continually, pay the salaries of workers in the state when other states are not committed to do same is, highly, commendable. Things are very hard in the country, but his forthrightness in the provisions of good amenities like good roads, delivery of quality health services, security of life and property and the provision of an enabling environment for peace to thrive constitute part of the qualities that stand him out amongst his peers.” Chief Kasali Amodegbe, the leader of the group, stated.
Mrs Raliat Ezekiel, a retired principal, observed that secondary school education has improved tremendously than it used to be before Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu was elected as governor. This, she stated, was the result of the good and quality supervisory roles performed by the Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, which can be seen as the by-product of the visions of the governor, particularly, for secondary school education in the state.
The parents also used the visit to appeal to the governor to do everything possible within his powers, despite the hard times, to, again, return the shuttle buses for students on the roads.
Receiving the parents, Chief Olugbenga Ale thanked the parents for their visit, describing it as; ‘the visit of the wise parents of Ondo State’.
“This is a pointer to it that, indeed, governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has warmed himself into the hearts of the people of Ondo State, as parents can be inferred to be the barometer by which the happiness ratio of the people of our communities can be measured. If our parents across the state are happy as, hereby, expressed this afternoon, then everyone can be said to be happy as such actions project the feelings in the various households in the state. This is encouraging and would mean a lot to the governor who is, at every time, committed to making life easier for the people of the state.
“The governor, like every mortal, has his high and low moments. Presently, he has a minor health challenge as all human being do, but that has not in anyway affected his daily work pattern and speed. He is a workaholic. I am happy to say that your words of prayers which serve as a soul-lifter will help as well.
“Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s touch on every sector of education in the state is commendable. In the recent time, the governor, graciously, approved that primary school teachers be promoted to Grade Level 16. The bar for primary school teachers was Grade Level 15 before now. In another vain, the governor has given instruction for experts to work on turning the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic to a university, surely, this will add to the delivery of quality education to the people of the state.
“The teachers that are due for promotion in the year 2023 in the secondary and primary schools system are already scheduled for interview exercises. To rank along with that is the new Ondo State Contributory Health Commission (Ilera Loro) Scheme, which the government has just signed the teachers of secondary and primary schools into.
The Ilera Loro scheme will allow staff in the said schools sector to assess affordable services in different standard hospitals numbering about 57 in the state.”
Chief Ale further assured the parents that their prayers and words of encouragement would be delivered to the governor.
