Presidential Election Results Will Favour Tinubu –  Jide Jimoh 

Hon. Olajide Jimoh expressed confidence that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), would win the recently concluded general elections despite concerns that most of the results could not be viewed on the INEC portal hours after voting and counting ended.

He disclosed this on Monday while reviewing the Presidential and National Assembly Election and Citizens perspective on a radio programme.

Jimoh, member House of Representatives representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency said the outcome of the elections would favour Asiwaju Tinubu when INEC announced the result in few hours time.

“By Gods grace, we are winning this election. We have been tested and trusted, and our party has presented the man that have the capacity and with some other candidates winning positions.

I am confident that after the announcement of the results the INEC, Nigerians would see who has won this general election, according to him.

Speaking on the general concern over the delay in uploading polling unit results for the presidential election on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Election Result Portal, Jimoh said Nigerian should exercise patience so far the outcome would be in the best interests of the country.

“There’s no perfection in every human beings. We should not expect perfection from INEC. Only God that is perfect. Whichever way it is, let us be patience and maintain peace for the purpose of the progress of the country.

” The outcome of this election, I hope will be the best for Nigeria. It is premature to blame anybody now, the delay can become peaceful at the end of the day. Rather than being chaotic. Let us tarry a while and maintain peace and carry every single persons along with what we are doing not in a hurry.

“The elections has been conducted and the electioneering campaign still on, no results have been declared officially in Abuja except that of Ekiti State. Let us wait for whatever the outcome of the procedure. It must be followed in line with the electoral act and thw constitution.

Jimoh, who delivered his constituency for the House of Representatives elects, Olanrewaju Oshun with total votes total of 22, 636 to defeat his closest rival from PDP, Mr Segun Gbayi, who got 13, 774 votes, commended the level of professionalism put in place by INEC officials and security agencies at his pooling unit. Adding that the peaceful conduct of the election reflected the people’s wish.

He also condemned the pockets of violence in some parts of the country during last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly election. Urging Nigerians to maintain peace and orderliness in the forthcoming governorship elections.

“Let us be peaceful and maintain tranquillity and ensure we are resilient in this situation so that our country can grow from strength to strength.
