Ogun Lawmaker-elect Tunji Akinosi Publicly Assaults Woman In Lagos

Tunji Akinosi, a member-elect to represent Ogun State at the House of Representatives has been caught on camera assaulting a woman, Abiodun Thomas, who confronted him after knocking down a hawker with his car around Onikan in Lagos.

The member-elect, who would be representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the the House of Representatives was seen the camera manhandling the woman after she confronted him for insisting the hawker was pretending to be hurt after he was knocked down.

The viral video captured moments when people were gathered around the lawmaker, the woman and the hawker on a very busy Lagos road on Monday, 1th May, 2023.

The assaulted woman was seen in the video yelling at the lawmaker over his inhumane attitude after knocking the poor boy down.

Reacting to the incident, the former Commissioner for Forestry in Ogun State, denied attacking Abiodun Thomas.

He said he denoted mischief in those circulating the video of the incident.

He also explained that though his car didn’t hit the hawker as claimed, he offered to be responsible for the victim’s medical treatment without any protest.

The lawmaker reacted in a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, titled, ‘Re: Video Upload on Social Media – My Story’.
